Confidence & Ambition Are Virtues
2-min read

Some virtues are universally praised: humility, gratitude, and kindness. They help us grow and strengthen our relationships. But there are others, just as important, that often get misunderstood or discouraged: Confidence and Ambition.
Let’s set the record straight. Confidence is not the opposite of humility. In fact, true confidence allows humility to exist. You don't need to boast or dominate when you have a grounded understanding of your strengths. You can be calm, quiet, and generous because you know what you’re capable of. That isn’t arrogance. That’s clarity.
Humility without self-awareness isn’t humility. It’s being timid. You can only be truly humble when you understand your power and choose not to flaunt it.
The same goes for ambition and gratitude. Grateful people are not complacent. They are energized by what they have and inspired to do more with it. Ambition isn’t a rejection of gratitude. It’s a reflection of gratitude. It says, “I’ve been given this life, and I’m going to make it count.”
Being confident and ambitious aren’t anti-virtues. They are virtues.
Don’t listen to people who say, “Be confident, but not too confident,” or “Be ambitious, but not too ambitious.”
You never hear anyone say,
“Be kind, but not too kind.”
“Have integrity, but not too much integrity.”
Stand in your confidence. Own your ambition.
Let humility and gratitude lead the way, not hold you back.
