100 Words for Snow
2-min read

The Inuit have dozens of words for snow, each describing a different texture, condition, or movement. To them, snow isn’t one thing. It’s many things, and the right word shapes the experience.
Now, imagine if we had more words for argument.
Most of us lump everything into one argument. But there’s a world of difference between a disagreement, a debate, a misunderstanding, a vent, a confrontation, a correction, a challenge, a negotiation, or even a plea for closeness.
The fewer words we have, the more likely we are to mislabel what’s happening—and react poorly.
Was that person really attacking you?
Or were they just hurt? Confused? Defending themselves? Trying to be heard?
When you expand your vocabulary for conflict, you expand your ability to stay calm, listen, and respond wisely.
The next time tension rises, pause. Ask yourself:
What kind of argument is this really?
Because the more words you have, the more peace you can find.
